The College of Engineering has worked to achieve its goal of educating highly-skilled, talented students with strong teamwork capabilities, serious work ethic, and global awareness. These students will be able to make creative applications of the theories and professional skills of applied sciences and cutting-edge technologies that are the fundamentals of the nation’s industrial advancements.

It has also earned international accreditation of its educational programs and conducted research and development on future-oriented industries at its Innovation Center for Engineering Education, Research Institute of Advanced Technology, and Machine Shop. In particular, it has contributed greatly to the regional development by offering technological consultations to the local businesses by studying the development of local resources.

Introduction

The Artificial Intelligence major of the Faculty of Software learns various knowledge in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), which is the core of the 4th industrial revolution. Based on the core AI theory and applied technology, students are taught in-depth applications such as machine learning, computer vision, natural language processing, speech processing, and computer graphics. Through this, we nurture talents who will lead future AI research and development with theoretical knowledge and practical skills.

Main Research Areas

Various AI-based applications including artificial intelligence, cognitive science systems, machine learning, natural language processing, big data, IoT, autonomous driving, blockchain, intelligent medical systems, smart cities, smart farms, games, cloud and distributed systems, databases, intelligent security systems, virtual reality and computer graphics.

We systematically educate the core theories and applications of Artificial Intelligence. Thus, we nurture talents with engineering thinking ability and creativity.

By educating artificial intelligence specialized skills, we nurture talents with expertise to lead the realization of the 4th industrial revolution society.

We teach practical AI theories and technologies needed by businesses and society and we nurture field-oriented talents who can apply the leading technologies of the 4th industrial revolution in business and society.
IV. Professional ethics
We nurture human resources who can develop warm technologies based on moral responsibility by understanding the professional ethics problems that AI technology will cause in the AI society.

Careers

Graduated students can find jobs in fields that require various skills related to artificial intelligence: AI-related fields that require convergence technologies with big data, data mining, image processing, computer vision, pattern recognition, robotics, autonomous driving, Internet of Things, cloud computing, energy IT, healthcare, and etc. Students can also advance into various application fields such as software and IT, design and process, automobile, aviation, finance, safety, and bio that utilize artificial intelligence technology. In addition, they can enter research institutes or academia after conducting in-depth academic research in graduate school.
