Introduction
The Radio Wave Communication Engineering Majors, which is derived from the convergence of the radio communication technology (RCT) and the information communication technology (ICT), aims at cultivating the specialists in the field of wire and wireless communication technology. A variety of new and comprehensive communication technologies based on radio wave information networks are developing.
To meet the needs of the rapidly changing technology field, the majors program has developed the curricula encompassing the RCT- and ICT-related courses to foster the majors’ ability to effectively process and transmit the information in the form of voice, image and data to the remote sites through mastering the communication theories, experimental methods and laboratory skills.
Aims
1. [Expertise] Cultivate the communication engineers with strong background in the fundamentals, especially in mathematics and basic sciences
2. [Practical application] Foster the communication technology specialists capable of applying the theoretical knowledge and application skills
3. [International sense] Nurture global minded communication experts with proficient in secondary language
4. [Professional ethics] Educate the communication technologists possessing the personal integrity and professional ethics capable of mutual communications in addressing the societal responsibility
Careers
Technical careers of the majors are widely available. To name a few, the design and management of mobile communication systems, RFID/USN field, communication circuits, and communication parts manufacturing, wire communication, optical communication systems and their design and management, filters and spectrum, signal processing, DMB and broadcast technology, microwave and radio wave, telemetrics and home network, the internet, and space, ocean and aviation fields, and many more in the information-driven technology market. One can go on to further study in graduate schools here at home or abroad for an eventual career in higher education and/or research institution.
