Introduction
The Graduate School of Public Administration was established to provide a systematic and efficient education for those who intend to take up further studies on public administration, local self-government, law, politics and journalism. The Graduate School of Public Administration stresses on the practicability and applicability of the study, so that it aims to provide training in general public administration, judicial public administration, policy theories, policy analysis and administrative technologies.
On November 8, 1990, the establishment of master's degree courses in three majors (general public administration, local self-government and judicial administration) of the Department of Public Administration was approved. In December 1990, an open lecture of the Executive Course at Graduate School of Public Administration was established, and then in 1993, an open lecture of the Regional Social Leadership Course at Graduate School of Public Administration was also established.
By 2008, the Graduate School of Public Administration operates with the Department of Public Administration (major in general public administration and local self-government), Department of Law, Department of Political Science and Diplomacy and Department of Journalism and Public Relations, and the total number of entrance quota is 40 students. The completion period of the course is two years and six months for five semesters, and 80% of the quota is obtained through a special selection. The open lecture Executive Course and Regional Social Leadership Course require completing one year of coursework and the entrance quota is about 60 students.
As of August 1, 2008, a total of 140 students were enrolled for the master's course, 60 students for the open lecture Executive Course and 67 students for the Regional Self-Government major. Moreover, a total of 248 students have obtained their respective degrees, whereas a total of 976 students completed the open lectures for the Executive Course and 743 students for the Regional Social Leadership course.
