Considering the increase in healthcare demand due to population aging and the size of healthcare workers in Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, the number of people engaged in healthcare industry is expected to increase continuously. However, due to the lack of re-education institutions for health workers, there was a limit to providing health care services. As the only national university in the region, the necessity of retraining of healthcare workers has emerged by actively responding to the demands and demands of the community.
As a result, in March 2016, 15 graduate students from the Department of Health Science (Health Sciences, Health Nursing, and Oral Health) were enrolled. The term of study is five semesters, two years and six months, and is operated in evening classes.
The graduate school has 5 terms of courses as evening classes with 410 students of 31 majors in 2 departments as of December, 2011. Until now, we have had 2209 Masters graduates and played the important role in retraining teachers in Jeju and nurturing professionals of primary and secondary education.
