Introduction
The Marine Life Science Majors program aims at cultivating the talented specialists who are dedicated to sustain the food security for people through efficient and scientific developmental pursuits. The goal-oriented majors curriculum encompasses studies in environmental science, fish farming, fish feed science, pisciculture biology, invertebrate animal farming, fish genetic and breeding science, embryology, reproductive biology, feed biology, marine organismic ecology, cell and molecular immunology, and immunobiology.
Aims
The majors curriculum is designed to theoretically and experimentally well-trained marine biologists with specialized expertise capable of tackling the issues concerning comprehensive and efficient production and usage of marine resources.

-Graduate studies to earn master's and doctorate degrees for research and teaching positions
-Certified 2nd degree teachers at secondary schools (fishery and oceanography)

-1995.10.04: Established the Department of Marine Biotechnology (50 enrollments)
-1996.10.24: Merged with the Faculty of Marine Products Science
-2009.03.01: Restructured 1 Faculty (Faculty of Oceanography), 3 majors (Marine Products Majors, Maritime Industrial Engineering Majors, Civil and Environmental Engineering Majors) to 1 Faculty (Faculty of Marine Biomedical Science: Marine Life Science Majors, Marine Biomedical Science Majors), with 5 Departments (Maritime Industrial Engineering, Earth and Ocean Science, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Maritime System Engineering)
