The department is in a position to provide the imaginative, talented tourism professionals for meeting the industry’s demands for resort planning, tourism site management, experience leisure development, recreational services, event and tourism publicity.
The Department of Tourism Development aims at educating the tourism specialists needed for the tourism industry through the majors curriculum offering a variety of tourism-related courses, as the department’s educational goals are especially relevant to the attractive tourist destination, Jeju.
The primary majors subject areas are tourism resources and their consignment management, public and tourists policy makings, tourist facilities and resort design, society and leisure businesses and their development.
Aims
The Department of Tourism Development aims at training the tourism specialists for the development of the regional society through theoretical study and research in tourist attractions and their management, tourism and recreational facilities and their design and presentation, analysis of tourism development investments and related laws. The department has been specifically designated as a comprehensive tourism dedicated academic unit in meeting the needs of Jeju’s priority industry by providing the well-rounded experts in tourism development.
