Campus blackout during Sunday, February 17, 2019

○ Campus wide (Ara) blackout for maintenance and safety inspection is notified

   as  follows:

○ Purposes

   - Legally mandatory scheduled maintenance of electric facilities on Ara Campus according to

     Electric Works Law 65

   - Assessment of safety secured for electric facilities and prevention of electrical fire

○ Blackout period and coverage: ‘19.2.17(Sunday).09:00~17:00, Ara campus wide

   Buildings exempt for electric outage: Faculty and staff welfare facilities (apartments),

   Bio-Research building, The Korea Productivity Center, BTL, Dormitory Halls 5 and 6

   ※ Maintenance and blackout times are subject to change due to inclement weather and

       inspection conditions

○ Your cooperation is greatly appreciated in the following cases:

   - Vising research offices and laboratories and class rooms

   - Persons responsible for caring for experimental reagents and laboratories must be present

   - Adjust schedule for lab experiments, research activities, and related events

   - No elevators are used during electric maintenance inspection

   - Electric power plugs for electric equipment and facilities are disengaged (OFF) before the

     scheduled  blackout, making sure that no electrical damaged are caused after re-supplying

      electricity

   - Check items include phones, LAN equipment, security (CAPS) and fire prevention (fire detection 

     device)

   - Inform the organizations temporarily housed on campus and rental properties (convenience

      stores and others) about the electric blackout
