Jeju National University’s LINC+ (South Korea’s state-led program for academy-industry cooperation) ran a pre-career education course on Friday and Saturday (April 2 and 3) for the applicants for the university’s Employment Academy program.

Titled the “Pre-Employment Academy”, the education course was prepared by the JNU LINC+ to prepare students for the NH Employment Academy, KOMIPO Employment Academy, and JPDC Employment Academy, which are slated to be held this year. The latest pre-career education course was designed to enable the young jobseekers to improve some of the corporate analytics and team building problem-solving skills.

The Pre-Employment Academy program invited special mentors from different industries, who helped the student participants learn the process of identifying problems and drawing solutions through corporate analysis and group projects.

The mentors, who currently work for conglomerates with attractive job postings, also answered the questions about successful employment strategies.

According to the JNU LINC+, the NH Employment Academy and the KOMIPO Employment Academy will start on April 23 and May 7, respectively. Further details will be announced by the university and the LINC+ team on their webpages.

Kang Chulung, head of the JNU LINC+, stated that the Pre-Employment Academy allowed the LINC+ Employment Academy to become an excellent model for human resources development through academy-industry cooperation. Since 2018, the LINC+ pre-career education course has served the purpose of building a strong HR capacity of local students and reducing the mismatches between their skills and jobs.
