Agreement on extracurricular services for primary school students made

Jeju National University’s industry-academy cooperation agency agreed with the center for local differently abled people and the nation’s leading after-school care supplier for social value creation through local philanthropic activities.
The representatives of Jeju National University LINC+, Jeju Welfare Center for the Disabled, and MiraeN Edupartner Co., Ltc. met at Jeju National University on Thursday to sign a memorandum of understanding for cooperation on discovering shared issues and developing educational contents.
In August 2020, the JNU LINC+ and the Jeju Welfare Center for the Disabled held a coding course for digitally excluded elementary school students.
JNU LINC+ also worked with MiraeN Edupartner in January this year to volunteer for an education project of reducing the achievement gap in elementary school education on Jeju Island.
Kang Chulung, head of the JNU LINC+, explained that the trilateral MOU further solidified the university’s role of creating social value through contributions to the local community. He added that the activities under the agreement will provide an opportunity to build a virtuous cycle of education where the achievement gap in education can be reduced through educators’ volunteer activities.
