Jeju National University’s industry-academy cooperation agency named LINC+ opened its NH Employment Academy on Friday (April 23).

LINC+ and Nonghyup Bank (NH) co-organized the three-month career preparation course for 21 students of the university who seek to land jobs at NH.

The career education program started featuring Moon Sang-cheol, head of the bank’s Jeju Business Headquarters who gave the students a lecture titled, “Reflecting on the 30 years of working for NH.” Following the opening lecture, Tae Yong-moon, director of the bank’s Cheongju Training Center, helped the students better understand cooperatives and agriculture. Previously in October last year, Jeju National University signed an agreement with NH Cheongju Training Center to foster talented financial specialists together.

The NH Employment Academy will continue to invite other professionals as lecturers, such as officials and staff members of NH’s central and regional headquarters as well as its investment and securities branch. The course will address useful topics for young job seekers, encompassing the characteristics of the financial industry, the organization of banks, the areas of NH businesses, the economy of Jeju Island, the trends in the financial industry, and work ethics required for financial specialists.

Additionally, the academy will teach the students looking for job opportunities in the financial industry about writing an appealing cover letter and properly responding to interviews.

The students will also meet and talk with JNU graduates who have recently joined NH and receive consultation from NH staff members who will help them prepare for the bank’s 2021 open recruitment.

After completing the course, the students will be given the two certificates of course completion issued by the president of JNU and the head of NH Jeju Headquarters, respectively.

Particularly, LINC+ will select the best trainee who will receive the citation awarded by the head of NH Jeju Headquarters.

The NH Employment Academy marks the 4th anniversary this year, according to Kang Chulung, director of LINC+. He stated that the training course has now become an influential academy-industry cooperation program for reducing mismatches in Jeju workers’ skills and jobs and creating appealing job opportunities for talented intellectuals.
