Cooperation agreed between JNU, KISA and NSRI

Jeju National University (JNU), Korea Internet and Security Agency (KISA), and National Security Research Institute (NSRI) agreed Thursday (April 22) to promote working-level cooperation for fostering talented intellectuals on cyber security, the university announced the following day.

The JNU-KISA-NSR agreement was concluded as part of the university’s software expertise development project, funded by Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and Jeju Special Self-Governing Provincial Development Center.

The three institutes decided to sign the agreement for the purposes of building a cooperation relationship with cyber security specialists in Korea to nurture local talents, broadening the job and business opportunities, and eventually contributing the advancement of the nation and the local community.

Under the agreement, JNU’s Software Convergence Education Institute will work with the KISA and the NSRI to educate cyber security specialists by running various courses for education, site visits, internship, job briefing, and more. The entire course will be designed to encourage JNU students to seek jobs in the fields of software development as well as cyber security management, both of which are key pillars of the digital revolution.

Song Seok-eon, the JNU president, stated the agreement will help the parties involved serve the great purpose of fostering talented individuals to protect the nation from cyberattacks. The agreement will also provide an opportunity for the three institutes to provide well-prepared specialists to the field of cyber security and help JNU students with interest in software engineering design their career paths, he added.
