2022 Spring Semester Application Guidelines for Rolling Admission confirmed
The 2022 Spring Semester Application Guide for Rolling Admission has been confirmed, Jeju National University announced Thursday.
The university was the nation’s only “flagship national university” (a national university designated as a provincial center) last year which succeeded in meeting the entrance quota despite the recent reduction of students in Korea. Highlighting the performance outcome, the school will actively appeal to students considering making applications for colleges next year.
According to the guidelines, a total of 2,467 students will be admitted, including 1,561 students (63.3%) who will be selected on a rolling basis.
Specifically, the category of Student Records by Subject (General/Local Talent/Balanced Opportunity) will have a quota of 878 students (35.6%). 623 people (25.3%) will be accepted as new students in the category of Student Records in General (General/Software Talent/Social Inclusion/Balanced Opportunity/Rural Community Member/Vocational School Graduate/Recipient of Special Education/Incumbent Worker). The remaining 60 (2.4%) will be selected based on the practical examination or achievement (category: General/Sport Talent).
In 2022, the Departments of Biomedical Information, Data Science, and Artificial Intelligence will be newly opened, as well as the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
To fulfill the responsibility of the flagship national university, Jeju National University established the category of “Student Records by Subject (Balanced Opportunity)” for applicants for the School of Medicine and the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. On top of that, a total of 334 students will be allowed for admission using the category of Student Records by Subject (Local Talent), which applies to those who are graduating from high schools located in Jeju, up 63 people from last year.
The university also announced its plan for the 2023 spring semester application, which will have an admission quota of 2,461 students, including 1,644 students on a rolling basis (66.8%) and 817 students on a regular basis (33.2%).
The categories of Student Records by Subject and Student Records in General will apply to 922 and 646 students, respectively. 76 students will be selected based on their practical examinations or achievements, and the scores of the College Scholastic Ability Test will be the final criteria for the remaining 817 applicants.
