Collaboration agreed between JNU and Multicultural Family Support Center

Jeju National University’s Global Teachers University (GTU) Agency and Jeju City Multicultural Family Support Center agreed to exchange infrastructures and collaborate for education on Tuesday (May 4).
Under the agreement, the two state-funded agencies will work for the reciprocal use of facilities, infrastructures, staff, and specialists.
The two parties will also cooperate with each other when requested for commissioned education courses, students’ field exercises, internship programs, and volunteer teaching opportunities.
Starting from this year, the GTU Agency and Jeju City Multicultural Family Support Center will volunteer teaching program where the Korean language is taught for students from multicultural families and female marriage migrants.
Oh Hong-shik, head of the GTU Agency, said the agreement will allow promising teachers to experience rapidly changing field of education and have volunteer teaching opportunities. He also expected that the GTU Agency will be able to spur its efforts to nurture globally talented intellects. The GTU Agency and Jeju City Multicultural Family Support Center will make concerted efforts to provide necessary assistance to local multicultural families, he added.
