Cooperation for social data science agreed between tourism organization and university

Jeju National University’s Social Data Science Training Center and Jeju Tourism Organization (JTO) agreed to run a course for industry-academy cooperation on Wednesday (May 12).

The university’s Social Data Science Training Center, was established to implement South Korea’s BK21 program which has been promoted for the development of tourism services and the resolution of conflicts between local economic actors.

The purpose of the latest agreement is that the university and the JTO jointly operate the innovative track of tourism services while reflecting the JTO’s needs in fostering talented intellects.

Social Data Science Training Center said the agreement for cooperation will spur the university’s efforts to vitalize local industries related to wellness tourism.

JTO emphasized that educating workforce for Jeju’s smart tourism requires a mid- and long-term attention in all sectors. Continuous and organic cooperation will lead to fruitful outcomes, the company expected.
