High-tech trial program held for families with differently abled members

Jeju National University’s industry-academy cooperation agency and the center for local differently abled people held a children’s high-tech trial program, sponsored by the nation’s leading after-school care supplier.
Jeju National University LINC+ announced that it worked with Jeju Welfare Center for the Disabled and MiraeN Edupartner Co., Ltd. to hold the MiraeN Coding Camp for Children on Saturday (May 22).
The program was designed to allow differently abled children and children from families with disabled members to try five different areas of advanced technologies, such as augmented reality, virtual reality, mixed reality, and artificial intelligence.
A total of 35 children participated in the program in small groups, and five of Jeju National University students helped proceed with the event.
During the trial activities, the participants asked questions about the so-called fourth industrial revolution, which evolves around the state-of-the-art technologies.
To fully comply with the state guidelines to prevent the COVID-19 spread, the organizers ensured that the children wore face masks at all times and use hand sanitizers and put on hygiene gloves when touching educational tools.
On April 15, the representatives of the JNU LINC+, Jeju Welfare Center for the Disabled, and MiraeN Edupartner Co., Ltc. signed an agreement for social value creation through local philanthropic activities.
Kang Chulung, head of the JNU LINC+, stated that the three organizations have made concerted efforts since August last year to reduce the education gap between the rich and the vulnerable in the local community. JNU LINC+ will continue to develop diverse contents for the purpose of keeping with the rapid technological advancements to lead the philanthropic move in achieving educational equality, he added.
