Korea Foundation (KF) held a workshop to share the performance records of its Korean language education program on Thursday (May 13), Jeju National University announced Friday (May 21).

The non-profit organization committed to public diplomacy promotes the program titled “KF Global e-School Korean Language Education Program” through university-based language schools in South Korea. Jeju National University’s Foreign Language Institute (FLI) and Korean Language and Culture Center (KLCC) have also joined the program as program operators.

FLI and KLCC participated in the latest KF workshop, which was held in the foundation’s Global Seminar Room, to share their views of the current state of the program and their respective performance records.

The workshop was also attended by KF’s top and working-level officials, as well as those other operators of the program or potential operators at Honam University, Cyber Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Daegu Cyber University, Sejong Cyber University, and Yonsei University.

The existing operators briefed the new members on their experiences and challenges, after which a panel discussion followed to share ideas and opinions on how to improve and further develop the program.

KF Global e-School Korean Language Education Program uses international student exchange and credit transfer programs to provide real-time or on-demand classes on the Korean language or Korean studies to students in other countries. The program ultimately helps the international community better understand the Korean society, while building international network of academic cooperation and disseminating the Korean pop culture worldwide.

In October 2020, Jeju National University was commissioned to operate the program. Through the program, the university has offered a total of seven video-on-demand courses to renowned Chinese universities.
