4.67 bn won national budget secured by JNU with best performing LINC+ in southwest

Jeju National University’s LINC+ (industry-academy cooperation agency) has been rated as “very excellent” for three consecutive years in the annual assessment conducted by the Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation of Korea.
By winning the highest marks, Jeju National University’s LINC+ topped the list of the universities in the nation’s southwestern region. The Ministry of Education also allocated 4.67 billion won to Jeju National University’s LINC+ for its operational costs.
During the assessment, Jeju National University’s industry-academy programs were highly appraised for considering both the strengths of the university and the unique environments of local businesses, while working to create sustainable outcomes.
High marks were given to the university’s sustainable self-reliant model through its close network with the local community, performance management toolkit, research group for industry-academy cooperation innovation, festivals to contribute to local communities, and local branding of students’ ideas.
Kang Chulung, the director of JNU LINC+, said the agency’s systematic responses to the COVID-19 crisis, which started from prevention to adaptation and to innovation, led to satisfactory results. He added that the agency will work to locate the nation’s advanced LINC program, which is slated to be promoted starting next year.
