Brain Korea 21 (BK21) Social Big Data Science Research Group concludes academic-business cooperative agreement with Jeju Techno Park

Jeju National University’s 4th phase Brain Korea 21 (BK21) Social Big Data Science Research Group for the development of tourism service and resolution of conflicts between regional economic units (Director Kim, Min-cheol) announced on May 28 that it concluded a business agreement to operate an academic-business cooperative program with Jeju Techno Park (Jeju TP, President Tae, Seong-gil) on May 26 at Jeju National University.

According to the agreement, JNU is to open courses as demanded by Jeju TP which will be co-operated by the university and Jeju TP employees. Also, an internship program will be introduced for graduate students of JNU can experience the working environment of Jeju TP.

Also, some of the Jeju TP employees will be appointed as affiliate faculty to advise academic papers. This is expected to help foster talent customized for practical business environment.

The Social Big Data Science Research Group announced that it will “aims to contribute to regional industrial innovation by rearing future talent capable of resolving issues in a creative way converging big and small data and linking tourism with wellness and oceanography, which are core fields in Jeju.”

President Tae, Seong-gil mentioned that Jeju TP “plans to foster sustainable talent who can immediately adapt to the field.”
