Professor Kim, Sang-jae was awarded prime minister citation for teacher’s day

Jeju National University announced on May 27 that Professor Kim, Sang-jae, Department of Mechatronics Engineering, was awarded a prime minister citation as a faculty member of merit on the 40th teacher’s day.

Professor Kim, first posted in 2002, has fostered 23 researchers (18 doctorate and 5 master course students) so far. Graduate students in his lab received 4 citations from the Minister of Education, 14 awards for excellent doctorate dissertations, 41 awards for excellent theses (21 international and 20 domestic).

Undergraduate students he has taught so far received 7 awards in Engineering Capstone Design Contests (including Provincial Governor’s award and President’s award). Professor Kim earned credits for such accomplishments and received awards for excellent academic advisors 8 times. His achievements has contributed to R&D competitiveness of regional hub national university.

In January this year, Professor Kim was selected as a regular member of the Korean Academy of Science and Technology. Professor Kim now leads the fostering of innovative talent in Brain Korea 21 Engineering Education Research Program for New Energy Industries.
