JNU Graduate School of Law (Dean Lee Yun-seok) has achieved remarkable success in the 2025 judicial appointment process.
In the selection for the Judicial Research Institute in 2025, two students, Han Seung-yeon and Hong Ye-sol (both from the 14th cohor), successfully passed the final examination. Additionally, three JNU students—Kim Young-geun (11th cohort), Park Hyo-jin, and Kim Ye-won (both from the 14th cohort)—were selected as prosecutors.
The quota for admission to JNU Law School is limited to 40 students. The appointment of these five students reflects the exceptional abilities of JNU’s law students, even within such a limited capacity. This achievement further demonstrates the effectiveness of the school’s educational programs.
The systematic and dedicated support provided by JNU Law School has been crucial to these students' success. The school has implemented various support programs, including the operation of a rigorous preparation team for judicial examinations, with allocated supervisors, as well as offering customized data and hands-on experience for exam preparation.
Particularly noteworthy are the programs tailored to meet student needs, such as inviting professors and prosecutors from the Law Clerk and Prosecutor Training Institutes to deliver specialized lectures. Special lectures conducted during summer vacation, aimed at preparing students for the prosecutor appointment process, have also significantly contributed to their success.
JNU Law School is committed to its mission as the only legal professional training institution in Jeju, striving to provide a strong foundation for future legal professionals. This achievement is also seen as a result of the synergy between the excellent educational capabilities of JNU Law School and the outstanding qualities of its students.
Despite being a regional law school, JNU Law School has made significant contributions to balanced regional development and to ensuring diversity within the legal profession. The school’s accomplishments rival those of top law schools in the metropolitan area.
Dean Lee Yun-seok said, "It is extremely meaningful that the exceptional abilities of our students have led to these successful appointments as judicial researchers and prosecutors. JNU Law School will continue to do its best to cultivate outstanding legal professionals who will lead the legal profession in Korea, extending far beyond Jeju.“
These achievements mark an important milestone for Jeju National University School of Law, as it overcomes regional limitations and establishes itself as a leading institution for cultivating competitive legal professionals nationwide. There is high expectation that more students will achieve similar success in the future.
