-Completion of the First Mentoring Class While Walking in Jeju Olle-gil 6-Course ; Thinking about Oneself While Walking on Olle-gil

The "Jeju Olle-gil & Self-reflection" course, newly established by Jeju National University (JNU) in 2024, has been receiving positive responses from students. This course was created to align with the Ministry of Education's policy stance on non-major subjects and breaking down departmental barriers.

Organized by the Future Education Division of JNU's Office of Education & Innovation, the course aims to support students' adaptation to college life.

As a signature curriculum of JNU, it opened with a quota of 35 students for the 2024 Fall Semester and quickly filled up on the first day of course registration.

The course structure includes an orientation on Sept. 13, three mentoring classes involving Olle-gil walks, operated as a two-way intensive course and final report on "College Life and Career Plan through Jeju Olle-gil."

The first journey along the Jeju Olle-gil began on Sept. 27 at Soesokkak in Seogwipo-si. Mentoring classes focused on students' careers and academic achievements, with JNU mentors providing experiences and advice against the backdrop of Olle Course 6, which includes Seopseom Island.

Approximately 30 prominent individuals from various fields participated in the JNU Mentor Group, including Wi Sung-gon, a JNU alumnus, Members of JNU Hallymwon, Representatives from the Jeju Development Headquarters of Korea Central Development Co., Ltd., and Employees of Jau Media Co., Ltd.

JNU President Kim Eel-hwan expressed his expectations for the course, stating that JNU students who were mentees are expected to find their way through the Olle-gil classes. He believes that after completing the course, these students will grow into mentors capable of helping their peers find their own paths.
