Prof. Min Joohong wins Korea Gerontological Society’s Best Paper Award

Prof. Min Joohong of Human Ecology and Welfare at Jeju National University has been awarded the Jisan Best Paper Award in the Spring 2021 Korea Gerontological Society Conference.
The award-winning paper typified the changing cognitive levels of elderly people for 10 years after they turned 70, particularly focusing on their gender and experience of losing a spouse.
The Korea Gerontological Society is one of South Korea’s most prestigious academic groups in the scholarship of gerontology. To prevent the COVID-19 spread, the award ceremony was held online.
Prof. Min taught at the University of Alberta, Canada, until she joined Jeju National University in 2017. Continuing her teaching career in the JNU Faculty of Human Ecology and Welfare, Min has studied the elderly population and family issues on Jeju Island and in South Korea.
