Expert-level mechanical engineers secured

Two of Jeju National University’s mechanical engineers obtained the certificate of Master Craftsman Machinery Maintenance, the university announced on Saturday (June 5).

Jeong Ji-hyun, professor of mechanical engineering at the College of Engineering, and Ko Bang-hyuk, researcher at the College of Engineering Machine Shop, finally the 69th Test for Master Craftsman Machinery Maintenance, South Korea’s top accreditation for engineers’ proficiency and field management capabilities in precision processing.

Prof. Jeong said the successful result was due to the maintenance of the school’s precision cutting machinery and two years’ of systematic training.

The College of Engineering Machine Shop will continue to utilize the precision cutting machines and help the students with their practical coursework and the production of prototypes, he added.
