An education course on official development assistance will be offered online, Jeju National University International Development and Cooperation Center (JIDCC) announced Monday (June 14).

The course, titled “Issues in the General Areas of International Development and Assistance”, will be held for four days (July 1, July 2, July 5, and July 6) as the second intensive course of JIDCC’s regular education program.

The education course is open to anyone living in Korea who are interested in international development and assistance. Applications will be accepted through the official QR code in the order they are received until June 25.

Classes and teaching materials will be offered for free, and the students with the attendance rate of 80% or over will receive the certificate of course completion issued by the JIDCC and Korea International Cooperation Agency.

According to the JIDCC, the course will address the topics of “The Environment and ODA”, “Gender and ODA”, “Human Rights and ODA”, “Poverty and ODA”, and “Applicable Support Strategies and Case Examples by Area”.

The scheduled event will be the second intensive program of the basic course which was held in May. The JIDCC expects the in-depth approaches of the new course will help the participants read the international trends.

JIDCC was established in 2015 as Jeju National University’s on-campus agency for official development assistance under an agreement concluded between the university, Korea International Cooperation Agency, and Jeju province.
