SW융합교육원, ‘빅데이터 특강’ 개최
Special lectures on Big Data offered by SW Convergence Education Institute

Jeju National University’s Software Convergence Education Institute offered special lectures on big data for two days, the university announced on Friday (June 4).

On June 2 and 3, a total of 66 student members of the first Software Pioneer Scholarship Program learned about data science from renowned experts.

Prof. Lee Seung Hyun at the Software Convergence Education Institute and CEO Yoon Hyeong-gi of Impactline Corp. took the beginner-level and the advance-level courses, respectively.

Prof. Lee’s course focused on the process of data analysis using the Python language, while Yoon addressed the artificial intelligence-based algorithm called Recurrent Neural Network.

An undergraduate named Han Myeong-hoon who took the advanced course said the lecture taught him about the rapidly developing AI-based algorithms, which can be used in the big data sector.

Song Wang-cheol, director of the Software Convergence Education Institute, said efforts will be made to offer quality education programs more actively so that students can better prepare themselves for the software-led fourth industrial revolution.

The Software Convergence Education Institute plans to run an intensive lecture program on algorithms for job seekers for three days, starting from June 22.
