International Development Cooperation Center’s supporter group completes operation

Jeju National University’s International Development Cooperation Center (JIDCC) held the completion ceremony for its supporter group, “ODASAY”, on Friday (June 18).
The 5th ODASAY consisted of 12 undergraduate or graduate students who engaged in the three-month activities for official development assistance on Jeju Island.
During the completion ceremony which was held online, the members shared briefings about their activities and reviews. JIDCC also acknowledged the best performing teams.
The supporters’ activities in the past three months included cleaning the environment, staging a campaign on the Sustainable Development Goals, and taking the regular courses on official development and assistance (ODA) issues.
The participants expressed gratitude to JIDCC for giving them an opportunity to meet like-minded people and have profound knowledge about the ODA sector.
The JIDCC ODASAY (a term combining “official development assistance” and “say”) program was launched in the 2018 fall semester to encourage JNU students to actively engage in local ODA issues. The experience and knowledge they gained from the activities help the future global leaders build capacity in the related fields.
JIDCC was established in 2015 as Jeju National University’s on-campus agency for official development assistance under an agreement concluded between the university, Korea International Cooperation Agency, and Jeju province.
