JNU-KIRD cooperation for education agreed

Jeju National University (JNU) and Korea Institute of Human Resources Development in Science and Technology (KIRD) agreed to cooperate for information sharing on education projects on June 23.
KIRD is the nation’s only career development institute in the field of science and technology, established under the auspices of the Ministry of Science and ICT. The institute is recognized as the top authority in South Korea which specializes in the related education, research, and investigation.
Under the latest agreement, JNU will be allowed to access the specialized educational content held by KIRD, so that the currently temporal education course on research ethics can be run on a regular basis.
JNU and KIRD will also work together to develop and co-manage different e-learning materials and lifelong career development programs.
JNU signed the agreement in line with the Ministry of Education’s decision to continue to provide research funds for its postgraduate researchers under the Brain Korea (BK) 21 project.
Jee Youngheun, dean of JNU Graduate School, explained the agreement aims to prevent researchers from getting involved in fraudulent acts. The courses offered under the agreement will lay the cornerstone for improved research capabilities of the university’s postgraduate researchers, she expected.
