Open lab event scheduled for students majoring in ocean sciences
Jeju National University’s Oceanic Convergence Specialist Nurturing Project Team will hold an ‘open lab’ event for students majoring in ocean sciences on June 24 and 30.
The school’s implementer of the national Brain Korea (BK) 21 project will invite students in the Departments of Earth and Marine Sciences and of Ocean System Engineering to introduce the project and the support programs.
Particularly, the undergraduate participants will learn about the curriculum and benefits they will be able to access when starting the postgraduate programs under the BK21 project.
Those who are taking the BK21 courses will provide the undergraduate visitors with mentoring support on their future research topics.
The BK21 project is led by 10 faculty members of the university’s ocean and marine science departments. It aims to foster specialists who utilize oceanic big data for academic, social, and economic purposes.
On June 24, the participants will be introduced to the lab of the Department of Ocean System Engineering, followed by a tour and a review presentation.
The June 30 program will focus on the Department of Earth Marine Science, inviting the students to look around the labs on different topics of earth marine sciences.
