Outcome presentations shared for KD Innovator Program

Jeju National University LINC+ held an online conference to share the outcomes of the KD Innovator Program. The school’s industry-academy cooperation promotion agency hosted the event jointly with Kwang Dong Pharmaceutical on Wednesday (June 23), the university announced.
The KD Innovator Program aims to help students build entrepreneurship by cooperating with businesses to create new commercial designs and contribute to local community development.
Eleven teams of 35 participants in total began meeting in March for preliminary planning, followed by five more workshops and consulting events.
After receiving the feedback from the working-level divisions of the partner company, eight teams advanced to the final round to give presentations.
The grand prize was given to the Smurfs which proposed the combination of Jeju’s citrus tenuissima with Dolhareubang (a unique stone statue that looks like an old man) for the Jeju edition of Vita 500, a vitamin drink. The team was recognized for its marketing elements, particularly the method of using social media services to target the MZ generation, those who were born in the mid-1990s to the early 2000s.
Gwang Dong Pharmaceutical presented the prize money worth 6.9 million won in total, including 2 million won for the grand prize winners.
According to the company, 11 of the participants will be selected to join in its field internship program in July. Their expenses will be funded by the company and the university.
JNU LINC+ will develop more industry-academy cooperation projects as a way of building an ecosystem where education, capstone design, internship, and employment are provided together.
