Past and future of Northeast Asian littoral cities to be explored Int’l conference scheduled between JNU-TCRI, Bukyong National University, and KANAS

 

 

Jeju National University’s Tamla Culture Research Institute (JNU-TCRI) will hold an international conference under the theme of the “Past and Future of Northeast Asian Littoral Cities” from July 8 to 10.

 

JNU-TCRI co-organized the event with Pukyong National University’s Humanities Korea Plus Program and Korean Association of Northeast Asia Studies.

 

The conference will introduce latest research outcomes and share a teleological understanding of the continent from a maritime perspective. The topics will be extended to shipwrecks and landings, temporal and permanent migrants, and refugees and inter-state borders.

 

On July 8, the session titled, “Littoral Humanities I”, will feature three presentations. The program on the following day will include the keynote speech by the president of Pukyong National University, the session of “Littoral Humanities II” with six presentations, and the session of “Northeast Asia, South Korea, and China” with additional six presentations.
