BK21 Social Data Science Education Team to cooperate with JIKOM Cooperation agreed for joint research and talent incubation

Jeju National University’s Data Science Education Team and Jeju Institute of Korean Medicine (JIKOM) agreed to cooperate for joint research projects and local talent incubation, the university announced early on Friday (July 16).

Under the agreement, the two institutes will discover industry-academic research topics in the wellness tourism sector, develop field training and internship programs, create job opportunities for trainees, and participate in the education programs as lecturers.

The agreement will also provide a platform for the development of customized Korean medicine products using big data.

Kim Min-cheol, head of the Social Data Science Education Team, said the cooperation will contribute to the growth of industries using Jeju Island’s native plants.

Song Min-ho, president of JIKOM, expects Korean medicinal researchers will be able to use artificial science to boost the customized use of Korean medicinal herbs found in the Jeju region.
