A four-day education course on official development assistance was offered online, Jeju National University International Development and Cooperation Center (JIDCC) announced Tuesday (July 13).

The course, titled “Issues in the General Areas of International Development and Assistance”, is the second intensive program of the basic course which was held in May. Twenty-eight students completed the latest intensive program, offered on July 1, 2, 5, and 6.

According to the JIDCC, the course addressed the topics of “The Environment and ODA”, “Gender and ODA”, “Human Rights and ODA”, “Poverty and ODA”, and “Applicable Support Strategies and Case Examples by Area”.

The center expects the course completion will allow the participants to make an in-depth approach to reading the international trends, going beyond the understanding of basic concepts and theories of international development and cooperation.

The education course is open to anyone living in Korea who are interested in international development and assistance. More details about the course is announced on the website of the JIDCC (https://jjidcc.modoo.at/).

JIDCC was established in 2015 as Jeju National University’s on-campus agency for official development assistance under an agreement concluded between the university, Korea International Cooperation Agency, and Jeju province.
