Jeju National University’s Research Institute for Basic Science (JNU-RIBC) held the 3rd Regular Seminar in Liaison with Local Research Institutes on Thursday (July 22).

The latest seminar was organized with the Subtropical Livestock Institute of the National Institute of Animal Science (NIAS).

During the seminar, Yang Byung-cheol, the director of NIAS’s Subtropical Livestock Institute, gave a presentation and shared his ideas about the preservation and development strategies of livestock resources on Jeju Island.

Prof. Ko Eun-joo at JNU-RIBC also introduced her research on the development of materials for the immune system concerning the improvement of efficacy of vaccines.

A JNU-RIBC official said the seminar was an opportunity for sharing the development trends of technologies related to local native livestock breeds and for discussing the strategies for an eco-friendly development of the stockbreeding industry.

JNU-RIBC hold a seminar regularly with Jeju-based research institutes to revitalize inter-academic exchanges and information sharing.

NIAS’s Subtropical Livestock Institute was invited as the third co-organizer of the seminar this year.

The fourth event is slated to be held on Sept. 16, with the Jeju headquarters of Korea Institute of Industrial Technology.
