Indian Post-PhD Khandelwal’s review article published in top international journal Leading the development of materials for the use of wasted triboelectricity

Gaurav Khandelwal, Jeju National University’s post-doctoral researcher from India, succeeded in publishing his latest review in Advanced Energy Materials, the world’s most renowned journal in the scholarship of advanced energy.

The article is titled, “Mechatronics Engineering wrote Materials Beyond Conventional Triboelectric Series for Fabrication and Applications of Triboelectric Nanogenerators”, and was released online on July 20, 2021, by the journal.

The review article summarizes the progress in the development of frictional layers and electrode materials for triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs). The mechanism for the output enhancement and device applications are discussed in detail, while a perspective on the future and relevant challenges in material development for TENGs are also addressed.

The research assistant in the university’s Department of Mechatronics Engineering was awarded the Best Paper Prize in 2021 for his doctoral dissertation.

Previously, Dr. Khandelwal had another article, titled, “Self-powered ferroelectric NTC Thermistor Based on Bismuth Titanate”, published in the same journal, especially for its internal front cover.

Established in 2011, Advanced Energy Materials is an international, interdisciplinary forum of peer-reviewed contributions on materials used in all forms of energy harvesting, conversion, and storage. The journal, with a 2020 Impact Factor of 29.368), is published by Wile-VCH, a world-famous publishing house in Germany.
