The final session of the JNU "Jeju Olle-gil & Self-Reflection" course took place on the morning of November 8, starting with the stamp of 'Olle 9 Course' at Daepyeongpogu (Changcheon-ri, Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo-si, Jeju). This newly established course, organized by the Future Education Division of the Ministry of Education and Innovation, aimed to help JNU undergraduate students design their careers and academic paths while walking the Olle trails with mentors from both inside and outside the university.

A total of 75 people participated in the event, including 27 JNU students and 35 members of the JNU Mentor Group. The mentors included executives from organizations such as the Jeju Research Institute, Jeju Tourism Organization, CL Tech, and Mobitech. Additionally, 37 teachers and students from Daejeong Girls' High School (led by Principal Seo Ja-yang) joined the Olle Road mentoring classes that morning.

One student shared their thoughts on the experience, saying, "It wasn’t just about walking on the trail—I felt a little more mature as I shared my college life with friends I met in the Olle Road class. Climbing the uphill paths allowed me to meet and reflect on myself, which was an incredibly valuable experience."
Yang Deok-soon, head of the Jeju Research Institute and one of the mentors, remarked, "As researchers, we also experienced struggles and uncertainty during our college years. This understanding allowed us to empathize with and advise students in a meaningful way.“

JNU President Kim Eel-hwan shared his aspirations for the program, saying, "The ultimate goal of the Jeju Olle-gil & Self-Reflection course is to 'Save my friend.' There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a student who took this class eventually become a mentor and support a friend in need. I hope you can embrace your youth fully, taking Jeju’s nature as your companion.“

During the 2024 Fall Semester, the course covered one Olle trail each month, beginning with an orientation session on September 13. The evaluation meeting, where the course's progress will be reviewed, is scheduled for December 6. At this meeting, participating students will present their reflections on college life and career plans.
