Agro business incubation team’s HACCP leadership training session held

 

 

Jeju National University’s Incubation Team for Professional Farmers held the training session for the leaders of its HACCP teams, the university announced on Wednesday (Aug. 11).

 

From Aug. 4 to 6, the trainees visited Daegu University’s HACCP Training Center, a training institute designated by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety for hazard analysis of critical control points (HACCP).

 

After the training course, 23 people from Jeju National University and three local businesses obtained the certificate of course completion.

 

HACCP is taught as the university’s inter-department major with its classes offered by the Incubation Team for Professional Farmers. The course provides a systematic education on the qualifications for agro business jobs and the overall information about food processing.

 

Since 2006, the school’s Incubation Team for Professional Farmers has offered training courses for agro sciences majors, with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Korea Agency of Education, Promotion and Information Service in Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.

 

Recently, its educational programs have focused on the safety control of agro products and the use of Jeju National University’s Incubating Site for Smart Farm Start-ups.

 

Kim Song-soon, the head of the Incubation Team for Professional Farmers, said the HACCP training course was designed to teach the students not just on food safety but also on business management capabilities.
