Social Data Science Education Team to cooperate with Jeju ICT Enterprise Association

Jeju National University’s Social Data Science Education Team and Jeju ICT Enterprise Association agreed to cooperate for joint research projects and local talent incubation, the university announced on Tuesday (Aug. 10).

Under the agreement, the two parties will discover industry-academic research topics in the data science field, develop field training and internship programs, create job opportunities for trainees, and participate in the education programs.

The agreement will also help build a platform for joint projects on data science for the incubation of local talents.

Kim Min-cheol, the head of the university’s Social Data Science Education Team, said the agreed cooperation will contribute to the growth of Jeju’s industries based on innovative technologies. Oh Tae-heon, the chairman of Jeju ICT Enterprise Association, also expected that the agreement will help the local businesses secure competitiveness in the global market.
