International conference on trans-border migrants scheduled to be held

Jeju National University’s Tamla Culture Research Institute and Daegu University’s Humanity Sciences Institute will co-host an international conference on trans-border migrants on Wednesday (Aug. 11).

Funded by the National Research Foundation of Korea, the conference will be held under the theme of “Trans-border Migrants on Rail: Absence of Hospitality and Nomadic Souls”.

The conference will begin with the keynote speech by Robert J. Fouser, a former professor of Korean language education at Seoul National University.

The following sessions will feature presentations by professors from Jeju National University, East China University, Yonsei University, Daegu University, Ritsumeikan University, and Ca’ Foscari University of Venice.

The general discussion session will be chaired by Choe Hyun, a professor of sociology at Jeju National University.
