MOU signed between KIOST Jeju and JNU’s basic science institute

MOU signed between KIOST Jeju and JNU’s basic science institute Cooperation agreed on study of marine environmental changes and use of marine life

 

 

Jeju National University’s Research Institute for Basic Science (JNU-RIBC) and the Jeju Research Center of Korea Institute of Ocean Science & Technology (KIOST Jeju) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on research cooperation on Thursday (Aug. 5).

 

Under the MOU, the two institutes will cooperate for research on the changing marine conditions due to climate change and for the conservation and use of Jeju’s marine organisms. The research institutes also agreed to work together to solve imminent local issues, while mutually participating in the other party’s academic events and projects.

 

Kim Myung-sook, the director of JNU-RIBC, said the university’s researchers will do their utmost to create values for the local community, alongside the revitalization of studies on basic sciences.

 

Kang Do-hyung, the director of KIOST Jeju, also pledged that his institute will spare no effort in the joint research projects and talent incubation programs.
