LINC+ project‘s talent-offering service offered to reduce achievement gaps

Jeju National University’s LINC+ Project has recently completed its talent-based volunteer education service for the local community, the industry-academy cooperation agency announced on Friday (Aug. 20).
The program was offered from July 24 until Aug. 18 for the purposes of reducing achievement gaps of local elementary school students.
For the community service activities, the university’s Next-Generation Student Clubs for the 4th Industrial Revolution, with a total of 15 members of four teams.
The volunteer teachers taught the elementary students about how to make a block-coded flowerpot, a paper flower, and a glittering lamp. The students also practiced operating different sensors and drones using basic coding methods.
To follow the national quarantine rules, the classroom was equipped with hand sanitizers and both the teachers and the students wore face masks and gloves.
JNU’s LINC+ Project runs an educational program where those completed the agency’s career training program can contribute to the local community.
Kang Chul-ung, director of LINC+ Project, expected that the agency’s talent-offering program to be well-established as an advanced volunteer program in the rapidly changing environment.
