JNU plant biotechnology researchers awarded best paper awards

Jeju National University’s plant biotechnology researchers were awarded best paper awards at a recent academic conference, the university’s Subtropical Horticulture Research Institute announced on Thursday (Aug. 19).

Research professor Sun Hyeon-jin and postgraduate student Wang Lan-xuo were selected as the winners of the Best Paper Award at the 2021 Annual Meeting of the Korean Society for Plant Biotechnology (KSPBT).

During the event, another JNU researcher named Han Kyeong-deok, a member of Prof. Chung Yong Suk’s lab in the Dept. of Plant Resources & Environment, was awarded the Chungchul Eoram Prize, which is given for a promising new scientist.

The Chungchul Eoram Prize selects the winner every year to encourage academic performances in the field of plant biotechnology. The nominees should be those who received their degrees in the related field within five years, and the KSPBT Award Committee announces the winners based on their expertise and contribution to the society.
