Student autonomous bodies educated on gender sensitivity

Jeju National University’s Center for Human Rights (JNU-CHR) held an educational course on gender sensitivity for the school’s student autonomous bodies, the university announced on Wednesday (Aug. 18).
Gender sensitivity refers to a person’s ability to be sensitively aware of the imbalance caused due to gender differences. Reflecting the growing public awareness of gender sensitivity, the JNU-CHR invited a specialist from outside the campus to meet the student demands.
The program was co-organized by the JNU-CHR and the Jeju Education Center of Gender Equality under the Women & Family Research Institute.
The two institutes expect the latest event to spur their cooperation in the education and research of human rights and gender equality issues on campus down the road.
Kim Eun-ju, director of the JNU-CHR, said the university will continue to work with other related institutes in the Jeju region so that different voices can be heard and a harmonious campus can be realized.
