Jeju National University’s Intellectual Property Education Center (JNU-IPEC) recently held a two-day workshop for revitalizing research on IPs, the university announced on Wednesday (Aug. 18).

In partnership with the co-host, the Korean Society of Intellectual Property Education & Research (KOIPER), the JNU-IPEC prepared the event to encourage researchers to share and disseminate their research findings. Given these purposes, the workshop was focused on briefing the participants on the latest updates in the IPs sector and fostering new researchers.

The program featured informative lectures given by prominent IP experts from the academia. Son Seungwoo, professor at Chung-Ang University and chairman of the KOIPER, gave the first lecture, titled, “The Essence of Data Asset and the Legal Issues of Its Protective Measures”. Following Kim, Jeon Juhyun, a Chung-Ang University professor, introduced the participants to “The IPs Expert Incubating and Educating Program Using Computers”. The final lecturer was Kim Chang-hwa, professor at Hanbat National University, and spoke with the theme of “The Significance of Data Protection in the IPs System and the Legal Tools of Data Protection”.

The workshop held a separate session for panel discussion and consultation meeting to share and disseminate some of the key research findings.
