GTU사업단, 제주국제교육원과 프로그램 공동운영 협약
Joint programs agreed between JNU-GTU and NIIE Jeju

Jeju National University’s Global Teachers’ University Center (GTU Center) and the Jeju Institute of International Education (JIIE) under the Jeju education office agreed to operate joint programs on Friday (Aug. 20).

Under the agreement, the two institutes decided to share each other’s facilities and other infrastructure, as well as human resources. Cooperation has also been agreed on running educational and field training programs for students.

JIIE runs foreign language and multicultural education courses for Jeju residents. GTU Center incubates global teachers who can give lectures on multiculturalism.

The two institutes expect the agreement to help develop different language courses and multicultural programs for students and teachers.

Oh Hong-sik, director of GTU Center, explained that the agreement was signed as a follow-up measure of cooperation agreed this year between Jeju National University and the Jeju education office.

Kang Ho-joon, director of JIIE, expected that working with the GTU Center will facilitate a more field-oriented educational course when reducing achievement gaps between students from local and multicultural families.
