International Development Cooperation Center’s new supporter group launched

Jeju National University’s International Development Cooperation Center (JIDCC) launched the 6th ODASAY, the group of its undergraduate supporters.

Late on Friday (Sept. 3), seven members of the JIDCC ODASAY (a term combining “official development assistance” and “say”) met online.

The 6th ODASAY will engage in the three-month activities with the theme of official development assistance on Jeju Island.

The launching ceremony featured the introduction of the JIDCC project for future ODA leaders and the briefing on what the former team members achieved through the project.

Particularly, a specialist in making “card news” was invited to teach the new supporters about how to create promotional contents in the “card news” format.

A JIDCC official in charge of the supporters stated that the center will make concerted efforts to encourage the new supporters to come up with creative ideas and publicize the significance of ODA. Through the ODASAY capacity-building activities, the JIDCC expects to help the students secure a footing for career paths in the ODA field, he added.

JIDCC was established in 2015 as Jeju National University’s on-campus agency for official development assistance under an agreement concluded between the university, Korea International Cooperation Agency, and Jeju province.
