Prof. Kim Chi-wan appointed as Press Arbitration Commission member

Kim Chi-wan, professor of philosophy at Jeju National University, has been appointed as a Jeju regional member of the Press Arbitration Commission (PAC) as of Sept. 1.

PAC under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is a state-level commission for the adjustment or arbitration of disputes over media reports and the determination of infringed lawful rights and benefits. The commission has 18 regional branches with 90 active members.

Kim started teaching at Jeju National University in March 2009, and has since served as the director of the university’s Liberal Arts Education Center, chief editor of the Department of Newspaper, Broadcasting and Publication, director of the Faculty of Liberal Education, and chairman of the National and Public University Chief Editors Council.

The professor has also authored different books about logics, Eastern philosophy, Jeju’s locality, and more.
