Prof. Cho Jungwon’s book to be used as middle school textbook Seoul education office decides to use it for AI education for fall semester

Artificial Intelligence and Future Society, a textbook for middle school students authored by Professor Cho Jungwon (Department of Computer Education) will be used for middle school students, starting from this fall semester.

The Seoul Metropolitan City Office of Education recently authorized Cho’s book to be used at Dongshin Middle School, the city’s software leading school and AI education pilot school.

Previously, the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity selected the authors led by Cho for the purpose of fostering AI talent in advance.

The book consists of five chapters that help students have a better understanding of a paradigm shift concerning AI, as well as basic AI concepts and principles.

Particularly, the book introduces case examples of how real-life problems can be solved using AI technologies.

Cho stated that the authors placed an importance on inspiring students to apply the AI technologies to their everyday issues.
