Future ethics teachers awarded Grand Prize at peace & unification contest

Kang Hyeon-seok, Park Ha-min, and Hong Ye-jin, third-year students of Elementary School Ethics Major at Jeju National University’s Teachers College, were awarded the Grand Prize at the 1st Jeju Youth Peace and Unification Content Contest.

The contest, co-hosted by the Jeju Free International City Development Center and the Jeju Institute for Korean Unification, was developed for the purpose of developing local content on peace and national unification of Korea.

The Grand Prize winners discovered the content linking local sites with the theme of Korean unification. In their acceptance speech, the promising young teachers said the contest was meaningful because it allowed them to learn how Jeju has become recognized as an island of world peace after overcoming its painful modern history.
