Newest MRI now available at JNU animal hospital Better diagnosis for patients and clinics expected, with contributions to veterinary education

Jeju National University’s Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital purchased Magnetom Sempra, a magnetic resonance imaging device produced by Siemens Healthineers. The MRI scanner was test run on Monday (Sept. 13), the school’s animal hospital announced on Tuesday.
The newly introduced device is embedded with its producer’s newest technologies, such as reduced noise, AI-based protocol calculation, and the patient-friendly Dot engine.
The machine allows a more precise testing of brains, blood vessels, spines, the musculoskeletal system, the hepatabiliary system, and the genitourinary system.
Particularly, it can scan more vividly the nerves, blood vessels, and tissue structures, which helps diagnose and cure brain tumor and cerebral hemorrhage in advance.
Song Seok-eon, the president of Jeju National University, said the recent introduction of the cutting-edge device will improve the local state of animal healthcare and contribute to the school’s development.
Yun Youngmin, the head of the hospital, expected his satisfaction that veterinary school is now equipped with the most advanced MRI device in Korea, along with Somaton Emotion, a 16-channel CT scanner produced by the same company. The two state-of-the-art devices will contribute greatly to the treatment of animal diseases and the education of promising veterinary scientists, he expected.
