‘Food package for children’s balanced eating habits’ distributed

Jeju National University’s Industry-Academy Cooperation Foundation visited the Jeju City Five-Day Folk Market on Wednesday (Sept. 29), to distribute the Food Package for Children’s Balanced Eating Habits.
As the operator of the 1st Center for Children’s Foodservice Management of Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, the center had received prior applications from approximately 100 children.
To prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, the event was held in a drive-thru format, following the national social-distancing guidelines. The packages were also distributed at one hour intervals to avoid congestion.
The foundation included seasonal vegetables in the package to inspire the kids and their parents to cook healthy dishes at home. The package contains a meal-kit for Korean-style pickles, produced by the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Agricultural Technology Center. Children’s kitchen utensils and aprons were also provided, along with a promotional brochure for parents.
The foundation plans to provide additional supplies to those parents who post a review on their social media accounts or send snapshots of the dishes they make.
